Jess Zafarris, audience engagement editor at Adweek, as well as an award-winning content director, marketing strategist, and journalist.

Previously, Jess served as the marketing and communications executive director for Gotham Ghostwriters, and digital content director and content strategy director for Writer’s Digest and Script magazine. Her nine years of prior experience include roles such as editor-in-chief of HOW magazine and online content director of HOW and PRINT magazine. She has also worked at the Denver Business Journal, KMGH-TV, and the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

Jess is the author of "Once Upon a Word: An Etymology Dictionary for Kids", and a creator whose etymology-focused content appears on TikTok, Twitter, Instagram and the "Useless Etymology" blog.
